I have been in the league since its inception in 1988. We started with four teams and I can still remember the excitement and the smell of the grass playing my first baseball game in 20 years. My last time was in 1969 while serving in the Air Force. Everything was the same but aluminum bats. It was my first time to hit a baseball with anything other then wood. Fourteen of my 15 years in the league was spent as a member of the Tigers, first as a player and then as a player/manager. This year I hung up the Tiger uniform and put on the pin stripes of the Yankees, a difficult thing to do for a "boy" from Brooklyn. I am also playing in the 38+ division as a member of Ed Gamlin's Cubs (another difficult thing to do, sorry Ed).

Of all the memories I have from the last 15 years a few things stand out. First is the acquaintances I have made with people from all walks of life but all with a love for baseball. Another is being president of the league from 1992 to1994 during a time of rapid growth. We went from 12 teams to 24 teams in that time span. An of course being fortunate enough to be able to attend the MSBL World Series in Phoenix every year since 1989 and be lucky enough to win two World Series rings.
My wish for everyone who plays in the league is for them to experience going to Phoenix at least once to play in the World Series. Other then winning the series, one of my favorite highlights of going to Phoenix was playing with Larry Roseborough and teaming up with him to allegedly form the oldest battery in baseball history, he was 65 and I was 55.
