Managers (past, present and future
Happy New Year! The “20th year of MSBL in Dallas” is coming up in 2007 and we are very excited! We have already had some new teams sign up and, with DABA ages changing to 23-and-under, this could be a year for growth and increased competition. You’ll want to get started getting your teams back together NOW!
State of the League We met with the board on December 11th. We had 100% attendance. We reviewed 2006 and addressed the written proposals sent by managers to date. Good news is, as a result of requiring payments in advance in 2006, we have no bad debts, controlled expenses despite increasing costs and contributed more than ever to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. We owe that all to you! The business is sound and the prospects are great for 2007, especially since we are hosting the 19th Annual “Texas Cup” Labor Day weekend to help us celebrate our 20th Anniversary Season.
Rules As you know by now our age groups have changed to Open, 25+, 35+ and 45+. Players must be of age during the 2007 calendar year to play in an age group. Any grandfathering of existing 2006 roster players (for teams moving up to other older division) MUST be approved in advance. If your team is moving from 25+ to 35+ or 35+ to 45+ and have a few players under age, please notify Sam Kayea, sekayea@aol.com so he can present to the board. Remember, only players of age in 2007 will be allowed to pitch.
Fees After reviewing the plan for 2007, the board set the cost for the Open and 25+ divisions is $3850 and the cost for 35+ and 45+ divisions is $2850.
